At Tablehero, I was part of the three-member design & product team, responsible for designing the business management toolkit for mom-and-pop restaurants in the US. My role encompassed conceptualizing the product from the ground up, defining user workflows, building and testing concepts using low- and high-fidelity prototypes, and delivering pixel-perfect front-end development for select workflows.

The brief was to build a simple reservation & waitlist management app which helps restauranter manage their diners better. We kept it lightweight with no feature bloat. The focus was on solving for the core user needs first, i.e., a simple onboarding, restaurant set-up, table management & guest book that even the most low-tech owners could use.
Target customers
The target customers were the mom and pop establishments who manages a full-service dining room of any size using pen-and-paper and don’t want to be held hostage by expensive & complicated solutions available in the market like Yelp and OpenTable.

The objective was to enable small business owners to build their website as fast as possible and keep it ‘very beginner-friendly’. The solution we arrived at was an automated website builder that pulls content either from the business’s existing website or any other online presence into a mobile-friendly & responsive template in just one click!
Target customers
The target customers were small local business owners. To start with, we targeted mom & pop restaurants who are resistive of high budget, clunky website builder with complex editors that required heavy duty & time consuming content uploads.

Rise is a fashion-forward, ultra-clean template, designed to give the restaurant website a modern and approachable feel. I used primary & bold hues on actionable & modern sans-serif typeface, along with a sleek & compact theme to put the content front and center.
Sites offered more than 20 beautiful, responsive & free website templates, all based on different themes, designed by various designers.
I designed color schemes for all templates. These templates come with a unique
theme: a set of color, icons, buttons & UI interaction.

To enable restaurant owners to take online takeout orders on their websites. We designed a readily insertable, fully responsive orderable menu widget. It comes in different templates/colors, giving restaurant owner flexibility to select & match it to their existing website theme. The widget comes with a orders & revenue management dashboard.

The target customers were restaurant owners who wanted to get rid of pdf menus on their website or were stuck with a non-responsive webpage; as a result, losing on the untapped mobile customer base.
