In Sep 2023, I took part in the Bezi XR Game Concept Design Challenge, where the brief was to use body rig, behaviours, and colliders to create a highly immersive game concept in Bezi’s XR design and development platform. I built and tested an XR game board in low-light conditions, experimenting with animation timing, ray interactors, and handheld Quest controllers to refine player interactions.

A single-player AR/VR adventure where you step into the shoes of a lost king on a mission to reclaim your kingdom.
AR MODE
Roll the dice as the king’s piece dodges monsters, collects treasure, and advances toward quest destinations.
VR MODE
Enter puzzles, collect the key, and return to the AR board to continue your quest.
Inspired by adventure classics like Jumanji, adapted for tabletop AR play in real-world settings like dining and living rooms.

Rapid prototyping: Used Spline to refine 3D assets for Quest Pro performance. Integrated body rig colliders for tactile puzzle-piece placement and tested real-time interactions using ray interactor tools.
Immersion testing: Iteratively tested animations, board transitions, and VR-to-AR handovers with Quest’s handheld gadget for smooth interaction flow.
Environment-first design: Built the AR board to fit a standard dining table, optimizing playability and visibility in everyday home lighting, including low light.
Interaction & accessibility: Focused on simple block-based puzzles for younger players. Optimized UI legibility by mixing 3D text for buttons with bold 2D text for descriptions.
Assets created in Spline 3D; interactions designed and prototyped in Bezi.
